Abstract:  Objective To evaluatethe diagnostic value of high-resolution computed
tomography ( HRCT ) based on computertomography pulmonary angiography (
CTPA ) in
pulmonaryembolism ( PE ) .Methods Retrospectivelyanalyzed CTPA andthechest HRCT
imagesbased onthereconstruction of CTPA from 73 patients with suspected pulmonary
embolism.AccordingtotheresultsofCTPA , allcasesweredividedintoembolismgroupand
non-embolism group.The CTPA and chest HRCT images betweenthetwo groups were
compared .Theradiographicsighsofpulmonary embolism with statisticsignificance were
concluded.Results Atotalof73patients , diagnosedwithPEin25 , ruledoutofPEin48.The
twogroupsdidnothaveanysignificantdifferenceintheage , sexofthepatients , andthenumber
ofthebronchiwithembolisminleftandrightlung , respectively.Thepercentageofperipheral
pulmonaryembolism was much morethancentralpulmonaryembolism.Thecentraltype
embolismwastwotimesmorethanthetotalofothertypesofembolism.Pleuralthickeningand
consolidationsignswerebothhighlycommon.HRCT pulmonaryhypertensionsuggestedthe
possibilityofpulmonaryembolismwasabout3. 29timesthanthatofthepatientswithpulmonary
hypertension , pulmonaryhypertensionhadpredictivevaluefortheoccurrenceofpulmonary
embolism.Conclusion Withthecharacteristicsofquick , non-invasiveandhighsensitivity , reconstructedchestHRCTwhentakenCTPAatthesametime , whichcouldbeusedtoassessin
realtimewhethertherewereotherbasicdiseaseofthelunginordertoimprovethevalueof
CTPAdiagnosisandavoidadditionalradiationcausedbysecondarychestCTexamination.
