Abstract: [Abstract] Objective〖HTSS〗〓To investigate the clinical effect of ultrashort wave combined with physical exercise on preventing the dysfunction of shoulder and elbow joints in patients with abdominal skin flap.
〖HTH〗〖WTHZ〗Methods〖HTSS〗〓A total of 40 patients(age>20 years) with hand injuries were randomly divided into two groups: 20 patients for experimental group(group A), patients received the ultra short wave therapy and the passive activities of shoulder and elbow after surgery, and the patients received standard rehabilitation exercise after dissection of the pedicles of abdominal flaps; 20 patients for control group(group B), patients received conventional nursing care without ultra short wave therapy after dissection of the pedicles of abdominal flaps. Measuring the shoulder and elbow activity of patients after dissection of the pedicles of abdominal flaps at first day, a week and one month , HSS score for shoulders and Mayo score for elbows of patients were implemented after the surgeries. Differences between the two groups were compared by statistical analysis.
〖HTH〗〖WTHZ〗Results〖HTSS〗〓The motion range of joints of patients in the experimental group was better than the control group. HSS score for shoulders and Mayo score for elbows of patients in the experimental group were higher than the control group. There were significant differences between the  two groups.
〖HTH〗〖WTHZ〗Conclusion〖HTSS〗〓The ultrashort wave combined with physical exercise therapy could improve the motion range and the function of joints in patients with abdominal skin flap, reducing joint pain and improving the quality of life of patients.
