Abstract: [Abstract]〓Objective〖HTSS〗〓To explore the effect of ultraviolet and low temperature plasma irradiation on the bond strength between denture base and hard relining material.
〖HTH〗〖WTHZ〗Methods〖HTSS〗〓Thirtysix denture thermal coagulation samples were made and randomly divided into control group, ultraviolet group and plasma group, 12 in each group. These three groups were treated with adhesive, ultraviolet radiation + adhesive, plasma irradiation + adhesive, respectively. Each set of dental prosthesis samples and the hard lining were adhered and fixed on a fixture of an electromechanical machine. A shear rate of 0.5 mm/min was applied. The bond strength of each group was tested and compared.
〖HTH〗〖WTHZ〗Results〖HTSS〗〓The adhesion strength between ultraviolet group and plasma group was significantly higher than that of control group(P<005). There was no significant difference in the adhesion strength between ultraviolet group and plasma group(P>005).
〖HTH〗〖WTHZ〗Conclusion〖HTSS〗〓Surface treatment can significantly increase the bonding strength between dentures and hard linings. After ultraviolet irradiation and lowtemperature plasma irradiation, the adhesive strength between the base and the hard lining was significantly higher than that of a simple adhesive after surface treatment. Conventionally, ultraviolet or lowtemperature plasma irradiation was used to treat the surface of the material, which can improve the function of dentures, extend the service life of dentures, and reduce the economic burden on patients.
