Abstract: [Abstract] Objective〖HTSS〗〓To observe the effect of resveratrol on the cognitive function of rats with vascular dementia(VD) and to explore its influence on synaptic plasticity. 〖HTH〗〖WTHZ〗Methods〖HTSS〗〓Fortyfive SD rats were randomly divided into 3 groups: the control group, the VD group and the treatment group, 15 for each group. The VD rats (rats in the VD group and the treatment group) were established by bilateral common carotid artery occlusion. The rats in the treatment group received resveratrol treatment after modeling. Cognitive function was tested by the Morris water maze experiment. The expression of synaptic plasticity associated proteins(PSD95,SYN) in hippocampus of rats were detected by Western blot method. 〖HTH〗〖WTHZ〗Results〖HTSS〗〓Compared with the rats in the control group, the cognitive function of rats in the VD group was decreased, and the expression of the hippocampus PSD95 and SYN was significantly reduced(P<005). Compared with the rats in the VD group, the cognitive function of rats in the VD group was increased, and the expression of the hippocampus PSD95 and SYN was significantly increased(P<005). 〖HTH〗〖WTHZ〗Conclusion〖HTSS〗〓Resveratrol treatment could improve the spatial cognitive ability of VD rats significantly. The mechanism of its neuroprotective effect may be closely related to the improvement of impaired synaptic plasticity.
