Abstract: [Abstract] Objective〖HTSS〗〓To analyze the effect of open reduction through lateral minithoracotomy in the treatment of humeral supracondylar fracture and the influence on joint mobilityand imaging indexes.
〖HTH〗〖WTHZ〗Methods〖HTSS〗〓One hundred and thirty nine cases of patients with humeral supracondylar fracture were  divided into two groups randomly, the observation group(72 cases) was treated with open reduction through lateral minithoracotomy, while the control group(67 cases) was treated with closed reduction. All patients were followedup for 6 months. The clinical efficacy, elbow joint function recovery, joint mobility and radiographic imaging indexes after 3 months of two groups were compared.
〖HTH〗〖WTHZ〗Results〖HTSS〗〓The effective rates and the excellent rate of elbow joint function recovery of observation group were significantly better than control group(P<005). The joint flexion and extension of observation group were significantly higher than control group(P<005). The carrying angle of observation group was bigger than control group, the Baumann angle and tilting angle of observation group were smaller than control group(P<005). The adverse rates of observation group was significantly lower than control group(P<005).
〖HTH〗〖WTHZ〗Conclusion〖HTSS〗〓Open reduction through lateral minithoracotomy can effectively improve the joint mobility and radiographic imaging indexes, promote the recovery of elbow function, which is a good operation method in treating humeral supracondylar fracture.
