Abstract: [Abstract] Objective〖HTSS〗〓To explore the association of interleukin 17(IL17) single nucleotide polymorphisms(SNPs) with liver injury and HCV RNA level in chronic hepatitis C(CHC).
〖HTH〗〖WTHZ〗Methods〖HTSS〗〓The 257 patients with CHC were genotyped for the IL17 rs2275913 and rs8193036 polymorphisms by TaqMan system. Serum alanine aminotransferase(ALT) and aspartate aminotransferase(AST) levels in patients with different genotypes of IL17 rs2275913 and rs8193036 were compared. The distributions of IL17 rs2275913 and rs8193036 genotypes and alleles in patients with different HCV RNA levels were analyzed.
〖HTH〗〖WTHZ〗Results〖HTSS〗〓The serum ALT and AST levels were higher in patients with IL17 rs2275913 AA genotype than in patients with AG and GG genotypes(P<005). However, IL17 rs8193036 SNPs were not associated with ALT and AST levels(P>005). The frequencies of different alleles and genotypes of IL17 rs2275913 and rs8193036 were similar in patients with different HCV RNA levels(P>005).
〖HTH〗〖WTHZ〗Conclusion〖HTSS〗〓IL17 rs2275913 SNPs were associated with chronic HCV infection induced liver injury, which might be severer in patients with AA genotype. IL17 rs2275913 and rs8193036 SNPs did not affect HCV replication.
