Questionnaire on health literacy of infectious diseases based on item response theory

Abstract ] Objective Toanalyzetheitemsofthequestionnaireonhealthliteracyregarding
infectiousdiseasesinresidentsinBeijing'usingitemresponsetheory ( IRT ) .Methods Datawas
collectedfromthesurveyonhealthliteracyregardinginfectiousdiseasesofresidentswholivedin
Haidiandistrict , Beijing.Thethree-dimensionalquestionnaireidentifiedconceptualknowledge
andattitudestowardsinfectiousdiseases ; lifestyleandhealthbehavior ; andhealth-relatedskills.
Three-parameterlogisticmodelwasusedtofitthesampleandtocalculatethediscrimination ,
difficultyandguessingparameterofeachitem.Results Sinceeachdimensionofthequestionnaire
satisfiedtheunidimensionalassumption , IRTcouldbeappliedtoexecuteitemanalysis.Among
thethreedimensions , therewere70. 0% , 90. 9% and0% oftheitemdiscriminationparameters
lyingintherationaldomainat ( 0.5 , 2 ) respectively , whilerestofthemhadlargerdiscrimination
values.Alltheitem difficultyparameterswerewithinthereasonablerangeof ( -3 , 3 ) .The
reasonablevalueintervalofguessingparameterwas ( 0 , 0.2 ) .Fordifferentdimensions , there
were70.0% , 72.7%and100%itemguessingparameterfitinthisrange.Themaximumvalueof
theguessingparameterwas0.352.Conclusion Mostoftheitemsinthequestionnairehad acceptablediscriminations.Onlyfewitemshadexcessivediscriminationlevelsandmostlyexisted
inthehealth-relatedskillsdimension.Thedifficultiesofalltheitemswereinamediumtoslightly
lowerlevel , whichwasreasonable.Guessingbehavioronlyhappenedt
