Effect of group rehabilitation therapy on anxiety, depression and ADL for patients with hemiplegia following stroke

Abstract ] Objective Toexploretheeffectsofgrouprehabilitationtherapyonanxietyand
depression , aswellasactivitiesofdailyliving ( ADL ) forpatientswithhemiplegiafollowing
stroke.Methods Eightypatientsfollowingstrokewithhemiplegiawerecollected.Theywere
dividedintoobservationgroup ( 40cases ) andcontrolgroup ( 40cases ) bytherandom number
table.Afterfourweeksintervention , observationgrouplost2patients , controlgrouplost5
patients.All patients received rehabilitation nursing and education.Control group with
conventionalrehabilitationtraining , butexperimentalgrouppatientsreceivedgrouprehabilitation
therapyforfourweeks.Then , afterfourweeks , anxietyanddepressionaswellasADLscore
werecompairedbetweentwogroups.Results Inobservationgroup , themoodofanxietyand
depressionweresignificantimprovementafterintervention ( P <0.05 ) .Thescoreofdailylife
activityaftertheinterventioninthetwogroupswereobviouslyhigherthanthatbeforethe intervention ( P <0.05 ) .Thescoreofdailylifeactivityaftertheinterventionintheobservation
groupwasobviouslyhigherthanthatofcontrolgroup ( P <0.01 ) .Conclusion Fourweeksgroup
rehabilitationtherapycansignificantlyimprovepatients'anxietyanddepressionaswellasimprove
theADL.Grouprehabilitationtherapyisapracticalandeffectivetreatment , andprovides
patientswithapos
