The impact and possible mechanisms of operation time on the postoperative recovery of elder patients with laparotomy#br#

Abstract ] Objective Toinvestigatetherelationshipbetweenpostoperativerecoveryand
operationtimeinelderlypatientsundergoingopensurgery.Methods Clinicaldataof80gerontal
patientswithlaparotomyundergeneralanesthesiaatourhospitalwasretrospectivelyanalyzed.
Patientsweredividedintotwogroupsaccordingtotheoperationtime , groupA ( operationtime<
3hours ) andgroupB ( operationtime≥3hours ) .Theclinicaldata ( includinggeneralinformation
andthesurgery-relatedinformation ), thepostoperativerecoveryrelatedindexesandthelevelsof
inflammatoryfactorsbeforeandaftertheoperationofpatientsintwogroupswerecompared.
Results Thetransfusion quantity , dosageofpropofol , operationtime , recoverytime of
spontaneousbreathing , extubationtime , recoverytimeandtheadversereactionrateofdelirium ,
fluctuationofbloodpressureafteroperationofpatientsingroupAwereallobviouslylowerthan
thosein group B ( P <0.05 ) .There wasnostatisticaldifference withthebloodlossand
temperatureaftertheoperationintwogroups ( P >0.05 ) .Therewerenosignificantdifferencesin
thelevelsofC-reactiveprotein ( CRP ), tumornecrosisfactor-α ( TNF-α ), interleukin-2 ( IL-2 ) and interleukin-6 ( IL-6 ) betweenthe2groupsbeforetheoperation.At12hafteroperation , thelevels
ofCRP , TNF-α , IL-2andIL-6wereallsignificantlyincreasedintwogroups.Furthermore , the
levelsofCRP , TNF-α , IL-2andIL-6ingroupAwereallsignificantlylowerthanthoseingroup
B ( P <0.05 ) .Conclusion Theoperationtimehadimportantinfluenceonpostoperativerecovery
