Abstract: [Abstract] Objective〖HTSS〗〓To investigate the fracture type, gender and age distribution of adult fractures at the base of the first metacarpal bone in Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei province.
〖HTH〗〖WTHZ〗Methods〖HTSS〗〓We retrospectively analyzed the clinical data of adult patients with fractures at the base of the first metacarpal bone who had been treated in Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei province. Analytic items included gender, age distribution and classification of fracture.
〖HTH〗〖WTHZ〗Results〖HTSS〗〓A total of 367 cases were collected, with a male/female ratio of 5.12〖DK〗∶1. The median age was 40 years old. The peak age was youth group. There was significant difference in male/female ratio among different age groups(P<005). The male/female ratio of youth group was significantly higher than middleaged and elderly groups(P<005). There were no significant differences in gender and age distributions in different fracture types(P>005).
