Abstract: [Abstract] Objective〖HTSS〗〓To investigate the feasibility of genu varum and its clinical significance based on morphological changes of femur and tibia.
〖HTH〗〖WTHZ〗Methods〖HTSS〗〓Radiographic images of 1 422 knees of varus were collected and analyzed. The alignments were drawn and multiple parameters of lower extremities were measured. The images were classed into four types on the basis of mechanical medial distal femoral angle(mMDFA), medial proximal tibial angle(MPTA) and joint line convergence angle(JLCA). The different between the distributions of different genders was compared.
〖HTH〗〖WTHZ〗Results〖HTSS〗〓Knee varus can be divided into four types with 72.36%(1 029/1 422) of type Ⅰ, 1.05%(15/1 422) of typeⅡ, 23.56%(335/1 422) of type Ⅲ and 3.02%(43/1422) of type Ⅳ. There is no significant difference between men and women.
〖HTH〗〖WTHZ〗Conclusion〖HTSS〗〓he typing method could fully reflect the morphological changes of the entire lowerlimb for the change of femur, and could provide a theoretical basis for the kneesalvage treatment or total knee arthroplasty.
