Abstract: [Abstract]〓Objective〖HTSS〗〓To investigate the clinical feasibility and safety of laparoscopic appendectomy (LA) combined with Transabdominal preperitoneal repair(TAPP) at the same time.
〖HTH〗〖WTHZ〗Methods〖HTSS〗〓Totally 13 patients with acute appendicitis and inguinal hernia in our department were enrolled in this study. All of them were treated with LA combined with TAPP surgery. The concept of enhanced recovery after surgery was applied to guide the perioperative management, and then, postoperative recovery and the incidence rate of recent postoperative complications including urinary retention, early inflammatory bowel obstruction, bleeding, residual appendicitis, incision infection, and inguinal hernia recurrence one year after surgery were observed.
〖HTH〗〖WTHZ〗Results〖HTSS〗〓All the 13 patients successfully completed the operation. All the patients had no complications after surgery such as incision infection, hernia patch infection, and inguinal hernia recurrence. Only 1 patient had postoperative urinary retention, and 1 patient had early inflammatory bowel obstruction, both of them successfully discharged after treatment.
〖HTH〗〖WTHZ〗Conclusion〖HTSS〗〓The surgery LA combined with TAPP is feasible and safe for strict selected patients who have both acute appendicitis and inguinal hernia.
