Clinical study of sequential end-to-side pancreatojejunostomy in patients with pancreatic and duodenal resection

Abstract: [
Abstract ] Objective Tocomparethepancreaticleakageratesoftwopancreatojejunostomy
methods applied in pancreatoduodenectomy , which are traditional end-to-end
pancreatojejunostomy and end-to-side pancreatojejunostomy with external drainage of the
pancreaticduct.Methods Theclinicaldataof95patientswhowereadmittedinourdepartment
andhadpancreatoduodenectomywereretrospectivelyanalysed.The95patientsweredividedinto
2groupsaccordingtothetypesofanastomosis , including65patientsinthetraditionalgroup
( end-to-end
pancreatojejunostomy ) and 30 in the modified group
( end-to-side
pancreatojejunostomywithexternaldrainageofthepancreaticduct ) .Thepancreaticleakagerates
ofthesetwogroupswerecompared.Results Fourteenoutof95patientshadpancreaticleakage ,
including13casesintraditionalgroupand1casesinmodifiedgroup.Conclusion Thepancrearic
leakage rate can be reduced in pancreatoduodenectomy
by applying
end-to-side
pancreatojejunostomywithexternaldrainageofthepancreaticduct
