Abstract: [Abstract] Objective〖HTSS〗〓To explore the relationship between the levels of individual blood lipid/lipid ratio and the types of cerebral infarction as well as the severity of intracranial vascular stenosis in patients with acute cerebral infarction.
〖HTH〗〖WTHZ〗Methods〖HTSS〗〓 Two hundred and nineteen patients were included in the study. According to TOAST classification, all patients were divided into three  groups,  including 95  patients with large atherosclerotic(LAA), 79 patients with small arterial occlusive(SAO) and 45 patients with cardiogenicembolism(CE). According to the degree of infarction, 73 cases were moderate stenosis, 57 cases were severe stenosis, 89 cases were complete occlusion. The total cholesterol(TC), triglyceride(TG), low density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDLC) and high density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDLC) levels were measured and the ratios of TC/HDLC, TG/HDLC, and LDLC/HDLC were calculated.
〖HTH〗〖WTHZ〗Results〖HTSS〗〓 The ratio of  TC/HDLC in LAA type of patients was significant higher than that in CE and SAO patients, and it was also higher in CE than in  SAO  patients(P<005). The ratio of TG/HDLC in CE patients was significant lower than that in SAO(P<005). The ratio of serum TC/HDLC was the highest in the severe stenosis group, and it was significant lower in the moderate stenosis patients than that in the severe stenosis patients(P<005).
〖HTH〗〖WTHZ〗Conclusion〖HTSS〗〓In the TOAST subtype, the serum TG/HDLC ratio can be used as a predictor of etiologic classification in the early onset of cerebral infarction in SAO type of patients. The TC/HDLC ratio is expected to be a specific biomarker of LAA, especially for early prediction of LAA. TC/HDLC ratio has an important reference value in judging severity of intracranial vascular stenosis.
