Abstract ] Objective Toinvestigatetheeffectsofatorvastatinandprobucoltherapyon
nonaloholicfattyliverdisease ( NAFLD ) inrats , andtoexploretherelatedmechanism.Methods
Thirty-twomaleSDratswererandomlydividedintofourgroup : normalgroupwithnormaldiet andgastricperfusionofsaline , NAFLDcontrolgroupwithhighfatdietandgastricperfusionof
saline , andprobucolpreventiongroup withhighfatdietandgastricperfusionofprobucol ,
atorvastatinandprobucolpreventiongroupwithhighfatdietandgastricperfusionofprobucol
andatorvastatin.Attheendof18thweek , ratsweresacrificedtoobservethechangesofblood
lipid , insulinandbloodglucoseinrats , andtodeterminethelevelsofserumTNF-α , IL-6andIL-
8.Results Rats weightandhepaticindexinthe modelgroup , probucolpreventiongroup ,
atorvastatinandprobucolpreventiongroupwerehigherthanthoseinthecontrolgroup.Rats
weightinprobucolpreventiongroup , atorvastatinandprobucolpreventiongroupwaslowerthan
thatinthe modelgroup ( P <0.05 ) .TheTG , TC , LDL-C , ALTinthe modelgroup were
significantlyhigherthanthatinthecontrolgroup.TheTG , TCandLDL-Cintheprobucol
preventiongroupweresignificantlyhigerthanthatinthenormalgroup.TG , TC , LDL-Cand
ALTintheprobucolpreventiongroupweresignificantlylowerthanthoseinthecontrolgroup.
TG , TCandLDL-Cinatorvastatinandprobucolpreventiongroupwerelowerthanthoseinthe
modelgroupandprobucolpreventiongroup.ALTinatorvastatinandprobucolpreventiongroup
waslowerthanthatinthemodelgroup.TheHDLinmodelgroup , probucolpreventiongroup ,
atorvastatinandprobucolpreventiongroupwerelowerthanthatinthenormalgroup ( P <0.05 ) .
Theseruminsulinin modelgroup , theprobucolpreventiongroupandtheatorvastatinand
probucolpreventiongroupwassignificantlyhigherthanthatinthecontrolgroup ( P <0.05 ) .
Visceralfatandvisceralfatcoefficientinthemodelgroup , theprobucolpreventiongroupandthe
atorvastatinandprobucolpreventiongroupwerehigherthanthoseinthenormalcontrolgroup

higherthanthatinthe modelgroup ( P <0.05 ) .HbA 1 cinthe modelgroup , theprobucol

thenormalcontrolgroup ( P <0.05 ) .TheserumIL-8 , IL-6 , TNF-αinthemodelgroup , the
probucolpreventiongroupwerehigherthanthoseinthenormalgroup.TheserumIL-8 , IL-6 ,
TNF-αintheprobucolpreventiongroupandatorvastatinandprobucolpreventiongroupwere
higherthanthoseinthemodelgroup.TheserumIL-8 , IL-6 , TNF-αinatorvastatinandprobucol
preventiongroupwerelowerthanthoseintheprobucolpreventiongroup ( P <0.05 ) .Conclusion
Probucolcouldprotectlivefunctiong , whichmightberelatedtoalleviateinflammation.There
mightbesynergisticeffectofatorvastatinandatorvastatinonlipidlowering.
