Abstract: Objective To evaluate the significance of bioelectrical impendance analysis in the measurement of body fat.Methods The body fat was determined by using bioelectrical impendance analysis and triceps skinfold (TSF) methods in 129 cases waiting for operation.Results The result of body fat obtained by bioelectrical impendence analysis and TSF metheds have significant corelation.(Men r=0.773,P<0.05;Women r=0.5,P<0.001).There are no notable difference between the two methods for the determination of over body fat,normal body fat and emaciation in the 129 cases (Kappa=0.547,P<0.05).Conclusion Measurement of body fat by bioelectrical impendance analysis is a pratical way with reliable result.
