Abstract: Objective To investigate protective effects of Lifeceramics(LC)on the liver of rats with chronic alcoholism. Methods Male SD rats were randomly divided into four groups:blank control group, alcohol (liquor)alone-administered group,LC alone-administered group, liquor+ LC-administered group,12 rats in a group. The rats of different groups were orally administered by gavage with test substance according to 10 mL/kg body mass;30 min later, oral administration of wine once a day for four weeks. At the end of the administration experiments, the activities of alanine aminotransferase(ALT)and aspartate aminotransferase(AST)in serum were detected. The content of malondialdehyde (MDA)and glutathione (GSH)in livers were examined. The activities of alchol dehydrogenase (superoxied dismutase,ADH ),acetaldehyde dehydrogenase(ALDH),glutathione peroxidase(GSH-Px)and superoxied dismutase(SOD)in livers were estimated. Results LC significantly reduced serum ALT and AST activity of liquor drinking rats, improved liver ADH,ALDH,GSH-Px activity and GSH content, reduced MDA content. Conclusion LC has protective effects on alcohol-induced liver injury.
