Abstract: Obj ective To explore the safety of laparoscopic appendectomy with percutaneous thread loop. Methods Acute appendicitis patients 74 cases treated with laparoscopic appendectomy were enrolled. The patients were randomly divided into wire loop fixation group (n=38)and non fixation group. The two group adopted the same operation procedure except the fixation.Comparison was made between two groups of patients in operation time,post-operation hospitalization time and post-operation complications (incision infection and fever). Results Compared with non fixation group, the mean operation time and post-operation hospital stay in loop group were significantly decreased (P<0.01),but there were no significant difference in the post-operation complications between two groups. Conclusion Laparoscopic appendectomy with percutaneous thread loop did not increase operative incision in the clinical use,the method is safe and effective, and also it reduced the operation time, but did not raise any post-operation complications.
