Abstract: Objective To investigate the relationship between KIF14 expression and hepatocellular carcinoma( HCC ). Methods This study explored the correlation between KIF14 expression and hepatocellular carcinoma by determining KIF14 expression in HCC tissues and normal liver tissues. Real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction was applied to test KIF14 in 50 cases of HCC tissues and 50 cases of normal liver tissues. Results Compared with the normal liver tissues,KIF14 mRNA in HCC tissues was overexpressed( P ﹤0 . 01 ). KIF14 DNA copies in HCC tissues were also significantly higher than those in normal liver tissues( P﹤0. 01 ). Conclusion KIF14 overexpression is very important in HCC tumorigenesis and may serve as a potential therapeutic target for HCC.
