NEDD9 expression in glioma of human brain#br#

Abstract: [Abstract]〓Objective〖HTSS〗〓To explore the expression and significance of  neural precursor cell expressed developmentally downregulated 9(NEDD9) in human glioma.
〖HTH〗〖WTHZ〗Methods〖HTSS〗〓The expression of NEDD9 protein was detected by SP immunohistochemistry and its mRNA was examined by reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction in 36 human gliomas specimens and 10 brain trauma with intracranial decompression, respectively. 
〖HTH〗〖WTHZ〗Results〖HTSS〗〓The positive expression rate of NEDD9 protein was increased in normal brain tissue, low grade glioma and high grade glioma. The positive rate of NEDD9 protein expression in low grade glioma group and high grade glioma group was significantly higher than that of control group(P<005). The expression of NEDD9 mRNA in the low grade glioma group and the high grade glioma group was significantly higher than that in the control group. The expression of NEDD9 mRNA in the high grade glioma group was significantly higher than that of the low grade glioma group(P<005).
〖HTH〗〖WTHZ〗Conclusion〖HTSS〗〓The expression of NEDD9 protein and the level of mRNA transcription were increased significantly in gliomas. Detecting NEDD9 protein or mRNA in human glioma can be used for judging the malignancy degree.
