Abstract: ABSTRACT:Objective To explore the diagnostic value of ultrasound-guided transbronchial needle aspiration in advanced stage lung cancer with anterior mediastinal lymphadenectasis. Methods Twenty-seven cases with anterior mediastinal lymphadenectasis not yet obtained pathologic diagnosis by bronchoscopy and repeated examination of sputum castoff cells were analyzed.Results Pathologic diagnosis was made in all patients,including squamous-celled carcinoma 9 cases,adenocarcinoma 11 cases,small cell carcinoma 6 cases,anaplastic carcinoma 1 case.None of the patients suffered from complications such as mediastinal emphysema, pneumothorax,or hemorrhage.Conclusion Ultrasound-guided transbronchial needle aspiration is a safe,accurate,dependable,economy and facility diagnostic method for some advanced stage lung cancer with anterior mediastinal lymphadenectasis.
