Significance of meglumine diatrizoate gastrointestinal angiography combined with multi-slice computed tomography in diagnosis and treatment of intestinal obstruction

Abstract: [
Abstract ] Objective Todiscusstheapplicationofmegluminediatrizoategastrointestinal
angiographycombinedwithmulti-slicecomputedtomography ( MSCT ) indiagnosisandtreatment
ofintestinalobstruction.Methods Retrospectiveanalysiswasperformedontheclinicaldataof60
patientswithintestinalobstruction , where36casesadmittedfrom2008to2012onlyreceived
abdominalMSCT scan ( controlgroup ) and24casesadmittedfrom 2013to2014received
combineddiagnosisofmegluminediatrizoategastrointestinalangiographyandMSCT ( meglumine
diatrizoategroup ) .Comparisonandanalysiswereperformedontheaccuracyofthetwomethods
indiagnosingandlocatingintestinalobstruction.Results Forthe36casesincontrolgroup , 3
caseshadtheirsymptomsofintestinalobstructionrelievedaftergastrointestinaldecompression ,
andtherestof33caseswithunrelievedintestinalobstructionallreceivedsurgicaltreatment ,
wherethecoincidencerateofpreoperativeimageologicalexaminationforobstructionsiteis
69.7% ( 23 / 33 ); forthe24casesin megluminediatrizoategroup , aftermegluminediatrizoate
gastrointestinalangiography , X-raytrackingradiographyoferectandsupinepositionsonA-P
projectionindicatedthat7caseshadtheirsymptomsofintestinalobstructionrelievedwithin48
hours ( in5casesthecontrast mediaenteredthecolon within24hours ; 2caseshadtheir symptomsofobstructionrelievedin24~48hours ), whiletherestof17caseswithunrelieved
intestinalobstructionallreceivedsurgicaltreatmentwherethecoincidencerateofpreoperative
imageologicalexaminationforobstructionsiteis94.1% ( 16 / 17 ) .Successrateofnon-surgical
treatmentandcoincidencerateofobstructionsiteinmegluminediatrizoategroupishigherthan
thatofthecontrolgroup ( P <0.05 ) .Conclusion Meglumine diatrizoate gastrointestinal
angiographycombinedwithmulti-slicecomputedtomographyisofgreatsignificanceindiagnosis
andtreatmentofintestinalobstruction
