Abstract: Objective To investigate the situation of obesity in the children with the age 7 to 13 years from Yuhua district,Shijiazhuang city to provide the basis for prevention and control of obesity.Methods The study enrolled 11 475 students with the age 7 to 13 years(1 year as a year age group)from 19 primary schools in Yuhua district as population,randomized by cluster random sampling methods and based on “BMI standard category for Chinese school children, adolescent used to screen obesity and overweight”to investigate and summarize the obesity situation within children.Results There were significant difference in different age groups(P <0.05).In the age groups(7 to 12,six groups),the obesity rate of male children was respectively higher than that of female children in the age groups(P <0.05).Conclusion There is high obesity rate for the male children with 7 to 12 years from Yuhua district,Shijiazhang city,more attention should be concerned and intervented as soon as possible.
