Abstract: [ Abstract ] Objective To explore the acute toxicity and chronictoxicity of dl-3-n-
butylphthalide ( NBP ) inmice.Methods TheBlissmethodwasusedtoobservetheacutetoxic
symptomsandtoobtainthetoxicparametersmediallethaldose ( LD50 ) ofNBPinmice.Repeated
administrationoftailveinfor30days , andthelong-termtoxicitytomicewasobserved.NBPis
dividedintolow , mediumandhighdosegroup ( 40 , 80and160mg / kgrespectvely ), normalsaline
wasusedascontrolgroup.Thechangesofthebloodchemistry ( alaninetransaminase , aspartate
aminotransferase , bloodureanitrogen , serumcreatinine ), andhistopathologywereexamined.
Results TheLD50valueoftheNBPwas545. 1mg / kg.Theelevatingtendencyofthelevelsof
aspartateaminotransferasewasobservedinthehighdosegroupofNBP.Nosignificantchanges
wereobservedinclinicalsigns , otherbloodchemistry , andhistopathology.Conclusion The
rationaluseofNBPwillnothaveadverseeffectsonthetargetanimal.
