Abstract: [Abstract]〓Objective〖HTSS〗〓To investigate the relationship among pentraxin3(PTX3), hypersensitive Creactive protein(hsCRP) and malnutrition in patients of old age with maintenance hemodialysis(MHD).
〖HTH〗〖WTHZ〗Methods〖HTSS〗〓Seventyseven MHD patients treated more than three months, with urea clearance index(Kt/V)>1.2, were included in this study. Fiftyone old MHD patients who were sixtyfive and above were in one group, while twentysix MHD patients who were less than sixtyfive years old were in the other group. Subjective Global Assessment(SGA), Kt/V, blood urea nitrogen(BUN), serum creatinine(SCr), serum albumin(ALB), hemoglobin(Hb), PTX3 and hsCRP were compared in two groups. The bivariate correction analysis of PTX3, SGA, hsCRP and ALB was measured in the two groups.
〖HTH〗〖WTHZ〗Results〖HTSS〗〓There were higher levels of PTX3 and hsCRP,SGA, while lower levels of SCr, BUN and ALB (P<005) in old MHD patients. The value of PTX3 was positively relative with hsCRP and SGA, while negatively with ALB(P<005).
〖HTH〗〖WTHZ〗Conclusion〖HTSS〗〓The incidence rate of malnutrition was higher in old MHD patients. PTX3 could detect the malnutrition.
