Abstract: [Abstract]〓Objective〖HTSS〗〓To investigate the relationship among pentraxin3(PTX3), hypersensitive Creactive protein(hsCRP) and malnutrition in patients of old age with maintenance hemodialysis(MHD). 〖HTH〗〖WTHZ〗Methods〖HTSS〗〓Seventyseven MHD patients treated more than three months, with urea clearance index(Kt/V)>1.2, were included in this study. Fiftyone old MHD patients who were sixtyfive and above were in one group, while twentysix MHD patients who were less than sixtyfive years old were in the other group. Subjective Global Assessment(SGA), Kt/V, blood urea nitrogen(BUN), serum creatinine(SCr), serum albumin(ALB), hemoglobin(Hb), PTX3 and hsCRP were compared in two groups. The bivariate correction analysis of PTX3, SGA, hsCRP and ALB was measured in the two groups. 〖HTH〗〖WTHZ〗Results〖HTSS〗〓There were higher levels of PTX3 and hsCRP,SGA, while lower levels of SCr, BUN and ALB (P<005) in old MHD patients. The value of PTX3 was positively relative with hsCRP and SGA, while negatively with ALB(P<005). 〖HTH〗〖WTHZ〗Conclusion〖HTSS〗〓The incidence rate of malnutrition was higher in old MHD patients. PTX3 could detect the malnutrition.
