Abstract: OcjectiVe To eXplore the effect of butylphthalide on the corteX eXpression of Rho-associated kinaseⅡ( ROCK Ⅱ)in rats after focal cerebral infarction. Methods Forty-five Sprague-Dawley male rats were divided into sham group,control group and butylphthalide group. The model was made by photochemical method. After injury 24h,brain water content was measured to observe the changes of the brain edema,the immunohistochemistry and Western Blot were done to eXamine the corteX eXpression of ROCKⅡ around the infarction area. Results Compared with the sham group,the brain water content of the control group was more enhanced,the content of ROCKⅡ around the infarction area was increased. Compared with the control group,the brain water content of the butylphthalide group was less,the content of ROCKⅡ around the infarction area of butylphthalide group was decreased. Conclusion Butylphthalide could reduce the corteX eXpression of ROCKⅡin rats after focal cerebral infarction,and thus alleviate the brain edema.
