The expression and clinical significance of AMPKACC signaling pathway in papillary thyroid cancer

Abstract: [ Abstract ] Objective Toinvestigatetheexpression and significance of AMPK-ACC
signalingpathwayinpapillarythyroidcancer ( PTC ) bystudyingtheexpressionofphosphorylated
AMP-activatedproteinkinase ( pAMPK ) andphosphorylatedacetyl-CoAcarboxylase ( pACC ) in
tissuesofPTCandtheirrelationstotheclinicopathologicalfeatures.Methods Theexpressionof
pAMPKandpACCintissuesof60casesofPTCand20casesofnodulargoiterweredetectedby
immunohistochemicaland westernblot , andtherelationship withage , gender , tumorsize ,
bilateral , multifocal , capsularinvasion , lymphnode metastasis wasanalyzed.Results The
expressionofpAMPKandpACCintissuesofPTCwassignificantlyhigherthanthatinnodular
goitertissues ( P <0.05 ) .TheexpressionofpAMPKandpACCincentrallymphaticmetastasesof
PTCwassignificantlyhigherthanthatinPTCwithoutcentrallymphaticmetastases ( P <0.05 ) .
TheexpressionofpAMPKandpACCinlaterallymphaticmetastasesofPTCwassignificantly higherthanthatinPTCwithoutlaterallymphaticmetastases ( P <0.05 ) .Age , gender , tumor
size , bilateralcarcinoma , multifocalandcapsularinvasionwerenotrelatedtotheexpressionof
pAMPKandpACCin PTC ( P >0.05 ) .WesternblotdetectionshowedpAMPK andpACC
expressionsinPTCtissueweresignificantlyhigherthaninnodulargoiter ( P <0.05 ) .Conclusion
