Abstract ] Objective Toobservetheefficacyandsafetyofinitiatinginsulintherapywith
insulindetemirinoralantidiabeticdrugmetformin-treatedpatientswithtype2diabetesmellitus
( T2DM ) whosebloodglucoseisnotyetuptothestandard.Methods SixtysubjectswithT2DM
wererandomlydividedintotwogroups , insulindetermircombiningwith metformin ( treatment
group ) and glimepriridecombining with metformin ( conrtolgroup ) .Thistreatmentruly
monitoredhemoglobinA 1 c , 7-pointbloodglucose , bodyweight , hypoglycemicevent , allergic
reaction.Duringthe32-week-treatment , thedosagesofmedicinewereadjustedaccordingtoself-
recordeddaily7-pointbloodglucose.Thisclinicalobservationistoevaluatetheefficacyandsafety
ofinsulindetermir.Results The7-pointbloodglucoseofthe2groupsaftertreatmentwere
significantlylowerthanthosebeforetreatmen ( P <0.05 ) .Thetreatmentgroupwaslowerthan
thecontrolgroup ( P <0.05 ), butthere'snosignificantdifference (
P >0.05 ) .Therewasno
hypoglycemiceventorallergicreaction duringthetreatment.Conclusion Insulin detemir
combinedwith metformincertainlyreducebloodglucoseinT2DM patientseffectively.Insulin
detemircombinedwithmetformindoesnotincreasethepatient'sbodymass , nordoesitincrease
theincidenceofhypoglycemiceventsandallergicreactions
