[Abstract] ObjectiveTo study the effects of Rhodosin on cognition in rats with vascular demedtia(VD), and to explore the mechanisms of its neuprotective effects. MethodsThe VD group rats were established by bilateral common carotid artery occlusion. Cognitive function was tested by the Morris water maze experiment after Rhodosin treatment for 4 weeks. The expression of orgotein superoxide dismutase(SOD) and malondialdehyde(MDA) (oxidative stress indicators) was detected by the kit. The protein expression of p38, pp38 and caspase3 were detected by western blot. Results In VD group, the cognitive ability was declined accompanied by decreased SOD and increased MDA, pp38, caspase3 expression. The cognitive ability in Rhodosin group was significantly enchanced, and Rhodosin administration reversed the changes of SOD, MDA, pp38 and caspase3 expression accordingly. ConclusionRhodosin could improve the spatial learning and memory ability of VD rats significantly. Its therapeutic mechanisms may be through its antioxidative stress effect and inhibiting caspase3dependent apoptosis via suppressing the p38 MAPK signaling pathway.

[Abstract] ObjectiveTo investigate the clinical effect of berberine combined with atorvastatin on patients with acute cerebral ischemic stroke(AIS) and the regulating effect on serum macrophage migration inhibitory factor(MIF), interleukin6(IL6) and monocyte proportion(MONO%). MethodsOne hundred and twenty patients with AIS were recruited and randomly divided into 2 groups: combined group(n=60) and atorvastatin group(n=60). They all received the basical treatment of AIS. Combined group received berberine(300 mg, tid) and atorvastatin(40 mg, qn). Atorvastatin group received atorvastatin(40 mg, qn). The levels of serum MIF, IL6, MONO%(before treatment and after treatment) and the nerve function defect grades(before treatment、after treatment and day 90) were measured and compared. ResultsThe levels of serum MIF, IL6 and MONO% were no significant differences between the two groups before treatment(P>005). After 14 days treatment, the levels of serum MIF, IL6 and MONO% of the two groups were significantly lower(P<005). And the levels of serum MIF, IL6 and MONO% of combined group after treatment were significantly lower than those of atorvastatin group(P<005). The National Institute of Health Stroke Scale(NIHSS) scores was no significant difference between the two groups before treatment(P>005). After 14 days treatment, the NIHSS scores of the two groups were significantly lower(P<005). And the NIHSS scores of combined group after treatment were significantly lower than those of atorvastatin group(P<005). On day 90, the Modified Rankin Scale(mRS) scores of combined group were significantly lower than those of atorvastatin group(P<005). There was positive correlation of serum MIF, IL6, MONO% and NIHSS scores before treatment(P<005). ConclusionCombined berberine with atorvastatin can significantly improve neurological impairment and downregulate the levels of serum MIF, IL6 and MONO% of patients with acute cerebral ischemic stroke.

[Abstract] ObjectiveTo observe the changes of serum urea nitrogen(BUN), creatinine(Cr) in paraquat poisoning rats, and to study the mechanism of paraquatinduced renal injury in rats, the expression changes of transforming growth factorβ1(TGFβ1) to assess the protective effect of melatonin in paraquat poisoning. MethodsNinety adult healthy SpragueDawley(SD) rats were divided into three groups randomly, 30 rats in each group. Control group and poisoned group were treated intragastrically with 1mL of paraquat(50 mg/kg) diluted with normal saline. Control group were treated with the same dose of normal saline as poisoned group and melatonin group. melatonin group were given 1 mL of melatonin at a dose of 10 mg/kg diluted with normal saline(once daily, intraperitoneally). Control and poisoned group were treated with the same dose of normal saline(once daily, intraperitoneally) as melatonin group. Six rats in each group were sacrificed on the 1st, 3rd, 5th, 7th and 14th day after exposure. Blood samples were taken from the heart to observe the changes of plasma BUN and Cr. The expression of TGFβ1 in rat renal tissue was detected by immunohistochemistry. ResultsThe BUN of the rats in the poisoned group was significantly higher than that in the control group at each time point, melatonin group BUN at all time points were lower than the poisoned group, but still higher than the control group. BUN in the poisoned group and melatonin group continued to increase from day 1 to day 5, and gradually decreased on the 7th day, the difference was statistically significant(P<005). The Cr concentration in the poisoned group was higher than that in the control group at each time point. Except for the first, 3 days to 14 days in days group were lower than that in poisoned group(P<005), but still higher than that in control group, and there was no significant difference between control group at each time point(P>005). The Cr in the poisoned group and the melatonin group continued to increase from day 1 to day 5, and gradually decreased on the 7th day, the difference was statistically significant(P<005). The levels of TGFβ1 in the poisoned group were higher than those in the control group at each time point, melatonin group was lower than that of the control group except the 3rd day, but still higher than the control group, the difference was statistically significant(P<005). ConclusionTGFβ1 is involved in the pathogenesis of paraquat poisoning kidney injury. melatonin has protective effect on paraquat poisoning kidney tissue, which might be mediated by TGFβ1 in the paraquat induced renal injury, but its regulation path still need a further exploration.

[Abstract] ObjectiveTo assess the value of serum transforming growth factorβ1(TGFβ1) in predicting the radioactive pneumonia(RP) and the shortterm effect, and to provide a reference for radiotherapy(RT) of nonsmall cell lung cancer(NSCLC). MethodsAn analysis was performed on the medical records of 264 cases with NSCLC. The pathology was confirmed via histology or cytology, using three dimensional conformal radiation therapy. The serum TGFβ1 level was detected before and after RT for all the patients. The TGFβ1 level in serum was detected with enzymelinked immunosorbent assay. Shortterm effect was evaluated according to the WHO unified evaluation criterion after a month of radiotherapy and RP was diagnosed by Radiation Therapy Oncology Group(RTOG) grading standard of acute radiation injury. SPSS 17.0 statistical software was used for statistics. ResultsThe level of serum TGFβ1 preradiotherapy was 442.20-12 840.00 ng/L, the median and the quartile values were 677.5 ng/L and 2 186.7 ng/L. The levels of TGFβ1 postradiotherapy were 280.0-11 753.0 ng/L, median and quartile values were 605.0 ng/L and 1 172.6 ng/L, respectively(Z=-4.617, P=0.000). There were higher incidence of RP in male than female patients, smokers than nonsmokers, PTV>450 cm3 than≤450 cm3, radiotherapy period≤45 d than>45 d(P<005), in patients with radiotherapy dose<60 Gy, and with increased levels of TGFβ1 after radiotherapy(P<0.05). Patients with concurrent chemoradiotherapy, radiotherapy dose higher than 60 Gy, serum TGFβ1<677.5 ng/L preradiotherapy preferred to have better response rate(P<005). Multivariate analysis showed that smoking, PTV>450 cm3, increased serum levels of TGFβ1 after chemotherapy were RP risk factors(P<005). Patients with concurrent chemotherapy, radiotherapy dose≥60 Gy, central lung cancer, serum TGFβ1 levels≤677.5 ng/L preradiotherapy had better efficacy(P<005). ConclusionLower level of TGFβ1 before radiotherapy predicted a better prognosis. Patients with increased serum TGFβ1 levels after radiotherapy had more RP risks. Serum TGFβ1 levels could be considered as a predictor of NSCLC prognosis.

Abstract] Objective To study expression and significance of Wnt inhibitory factor1(WIF1), βcatenin and chclin D1 in Wnt/βcatenin signal transduction pathway in papillary thyroid cancer(PTC). Methods Sixty cases of PTC were selected and the specimens of cancerous foci and adjacent tissues were taken. The expression of WIF1, βcatenin and cyclin D1 mRNA and protein were detected, and the correlation between WIF1 mRNA and βcatenin, cyclin D1 mRNA was analyzed. ResultsThe expression levels of WIF1 mRNA and positive rates of WIF1 protein expression in PTC tissues were significantly lower than those in paracancerous tissues(P<005), while expression levels of βcatenin, cyclin D1 mRNA and protein in PTC tissues were on the contrary(P<005). And the expression levels of WIF1 mRNA and protein in PTC lymph node metastasis group was lower than those without lymph node metastasis, but the expression levels of βcatenin, cyclin D1 mRNA and protein in PTC lymph node metastasis group were on the contrary(P<005). There were no statistically significant differences in the expression levels of WIF1, βcatenin, cyclin D1 mRNA and positive rates of protein in PTC tissues in different sex, age, tumor diameter, number of lesions and whether or not the capsule was invaded(P>005). Expression levels of βcatenin, cyclin D1 mRNA were negatively correlated with those of WIF1 mRNA(P<005). ConclusionThe down regulation mechanism of WIF1 gene in PTC tissues promoted the accumulation of βcatenin protein in the cytoplasm, which resulted in over activation of target gene cyclin D1. The WIF1 down regulation or βcatenin and cyclin D1 up regulation mechanism may play an auxoaction role in the occurrence and metastasis in PTC.

[Abstract] ObjectiveTo investigate the influence of increasing occlusal vertical dimension(iOVD) on mRNA of myosin heavy chain and myogenic regulatory factors in deep masseter of rat at different ages. MethodsFortyeight male Wistar rats were divided into two groups: teenage group(1.5 months, n=24) and young adult group(8 months, n=24). Then the two groups were randomly divided into control and experimental group(n=12). The experimental groups were iOVD by placing composite resin on molars. So there were four groups according to the age and experimental intervention, namely teenager control group, teenager experimental group, young adult control group and young adult experimental group. The mRNA of the MHC, MyoD and myogenin of deep masseter were observed on day 7 and day 14 after iOVD. ResultsOn the 7th day of iOVD, the relative level of MHCⅡa mRNA in group TE was higher than that in group TC. Aslo MHCⅡa mRNA levels in group YAC and group YAE were lower than that in group TC and TE(P<005). On the 14th day of iOVD, the relative level of MHCⅡa mRNA in group TE and YAE was higher than that in group TC and YAC. MHCⅡa mRNA levels in group YAC and group YAE were lower than that in group TC and TE(P<005). The relative level of MHCⅡx mRNA in group TE and group YAE was lower than that in group TC and group YAC on the 7th and the 14th day of iOVD(P<005). On the 7th day of iOVD, the relative level of MHCⅡb mRNA in group TE was higher than that in group TC. Aslo MHCⅡb mRNA level in group YAC and group YAE were higher than that in group TC and TE(P<005). On the 14th day of iOVD, the relative level of MHCⅡb mRNA in group TE and YAE was higher than that in group TC and YAC. Aslo MHCⅡb mRNA level in group YAC and group YAE were lower than that in group TC and TE(P<005). On the 7th and the 14th day of iOVD, the relative level of MyoD mRNA in group TE and group YAE was higher than that in group TC and YAC. The relative level of MyoD mRNA in group TE and YAE was higher than that in group TC and YAC(P<005). The relative level of myogenin mRNA and myogenin:MyoD mRNA in group TE and group YAE was higher than that in group TC and group YAC, group YAC and group YAE was lower than group TC and group TE on the 7th and the 14th day of iOVD(P<005).There was positive correlation between the myogenin/MyoD mRNA ratio and MHC Ⅱa mRNA(r=0.954, P<0.05), and negative correlation between myogenin/MyoD mRNA ratio and MHC Ⅱb mRNA(r=-0.755, P<0.05). ConclusionThe deep masseter of teenager rat in experimental group changes to MHC Ⅱa mRNA earlier and more than that of young adult rat. The MyoD and myogenin which belong to myogenic regulatory factors plays an important role in fiber reconstruction.

[Abstract] ObjectiveTo evaluate the clinical effect and accuracy of 3D printing implant template applied to the immediate implantation in posterior teeth areas. MethodsTwenty patients of the immediate implantation in posterior teeth are selected. After cone beam computed tomography(CBCT) scan of oral maxillofacial, silicone rubber impression, perfusion model, the registration is required between CBCT image and plaster model scanning data in order to compound a three dimensional jaw model. The implant position is designed via Simplant software and then 3D implant template is ready to fabricate. Under guide of template, the implant socket is prepared for implants and CBCT is required after the operation. Through Mimics software, the differences between designing position and actual position of implant should be measured mainly in neckhorizontal deviation distance, apical deviation distance as well as axial deviation angle. ResultsThe three dimensional position of twenty implants respectively in twenty patients are basically as same as the designing position with neckhorizontal deviation distance of(0.65±0.19) mm, apical deviation distance of(0.45±0.14) mm, axial deviation angle of(3.20±0.68) °. For 6-12 months of followup after restoration, no implant loosens off, the stability of bones around implant is sound without distinct bone resorption. The implant coping restoration can offer a good occlusion. Conclusion3D printing surgical guide can accurately transfer designing plan into the operation, improve precision of implantation and reduce the operation risk and complications. Also, it is beneficial to restore upper copings in later period and plays an important role in the difficult immediate implantation of posterior teeth.

Abstract] ObjectiveTo observe the effect of perioperative corticosteroid on the shortterm efficacy and adverse reactions in patients with chronic rhinosinusitis and nasal polyps. MethodsOne hundred and fifty chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps patients were randomly divided into 3 groups, each group with 50 patients. In the perioperative period, the 3 groups were respectively taken none oral glucocorticoids, 2 weeks oral glucocorticoids, and 4 weeks oral glucocorticoids therapy. We evaluate the efficacy of recent treatment, compare the occurrence of intraoperative bleeding and complications, and assess the incidence of systemic adverse reactions with oral corticosteroids. ResultsTotal effective rate of group A was 78.0%. Total effective rate of group B was 94.0%. Total effective rate of group C was 92.0%. Group B and group C were both more efficient than group A(P<0.05), and the difference between group B and group C was not statistically significant(P>005). The amount of bleeding in group B and group C were less than that in group C, and the difference between the two groups was statistically significant. Postoperative bleeding>50mL in group B and group C were less than group A(P<005), there was no significant difference in the number of patients with orbital congestion in the 3 groups(P>005). ConclusionPerioperative oral glucocorticoids have obvious promoting effect for endosopic sinus surgery treatment in patients with chronic rhinosinusitis and nasal polyps. There was no statistically significant difference between 2 weeks of oral corticosteroids and 4 weeks. To reduce the incidence of adverse events and to reduce the cost of care, perioperative corticosteroids are recommended for 2 weeks.
